Sohonet’s QC System has enabled the submissions of up to 400 VES award entries to the Visual Effects Society and the delivery of high quality viewings at the nomination judgings held over one day in several locations across the globe.

Sohonet’s QC System ensured that the awards submission process could be completed entirely online. The solution notified nominees if uploaded material did not reach certain requirements, such as image and audio codec and resolution.

Sohonet has again provided an end-to-end electronic submission solution and ongoing technical support for the annual Visual Effects Society (VES) Awards 2012.

Sohonet’s solution enables the submission of viewing content to be sent quickly, easily and securely for VES review. The electronic process has significantly increased the number of applications over the years, as nominees benefit from lower preparation and transportation costs and greater accessibility for all.

Sohonet’s state-of-the-art QC System automatically alerts nominees if submitted material does not meet the VES Award’s specification including image codec, audio codec, image resolution, etc. Proxies are also created for each nomination, so that VES committee members across the globe can easily and securely review submissions to ensure conformance with the category entered, without having to worry about the technical compliance.

Sohonet provide the entered material at the various international nomination events on Saturday 7^th January, 2012, in Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Vancouver, Toronto, Sydney, New Zealand and London. This will entail managing and distributing 24 hours worth of material on the same day across different time zones.
