Network Installation Engineer – 6-month Fixed Term Contract

THE ROLE

Sohonet has an exciting opportunity for a new Network Installation Engineer. You will work with the Sohonet Studio team to deliver network infrastructure projects at several high-profile Film & Television Studios.

Sohonet is looking for an experienced network installation engineer on a 6-month fixed-term contract, with the potential to extend based on project demands. The role requires you to travel to studio facilities based around South West London.

The primary responsibilities of this role are as follows:

• Conduct network installations following the technical brief of the project
• Maintain records of installations based on project requirements, including documentation of equipment lists, technical specifications, installation diagrams
• The rack and stack of core and edge networking infrastructure including installation and testing of wireless infrastructure
• Ensure hardware moves are accurately recorded in the stock management system
• Assist with the configuration and ongoing maintenance of network systems
• Troubleshooting wired and wireless connectivity issues
• Conduct occasional out-of-hours work (evenings and weekends)
• Perform other duties as requested by the supervisor to achieve project goals and objectives

SKILLS & EDUCATION

• A minimum of 2 years experience installing enterprise wired and wireless network infrastructure
• The ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines and adapt to changing circumstances
• Excellent attention to detail with regard to documentation and record keeping
• A valid UK driving license and personal transport

ADVANTAGEOUS

• Basic understanding of the Linux command line
• Understanding of IT networking concepts
• Familiarity with vendor networking platforms such as Juniper, Brocade, HP, Arista, MRV, Palo Alto, Fortinet and Cambium (former Riverbed, Xirrus)
• Relevant networking qualifications
