In the latter part of this year, we approached top feature film editor Sofi Marshall to give us her honest review of using our real-time, remote review tool ClearView Flex, from home.
Sofi has cut over 20 feature films that have screened across the US and internationally at festivals including Sundance, SXSW, Tribeca, and Berlin. Her recent feature Save Yourselves! premiered at Sundance in the dramatic competition earlier this year and, other recent work includes Villains, which premiered at SXSW, and Chained for Life, which the New Yorker called a “cinematic revolution.”
She’s cut spots for clients like Major League Baseball, Western Union, Anheuser-Busch, and Stack Overflow, and regularly edits media campaigns which focus on human rights issues across the globe.
In Sofi’s review, she runs through the entire process of receiving the Flexbox, pricing, getting set up, streaming a session and collaborating with clients. Her honest review is invaluable in helping us achieve our aim for Flex to provide the same seamless, high-quality and secure experience for users working from home as it is in a facility.
Feedback from customers and industry talent is what helps us drive the product forward, make improvements and ultimately deliver solutions that solve real issues. Adapting to the shift to remote ‘home’ working, we are in the process of designing an alternative ‘desktop’ Flexbox for at-home or on-set users, which has a quieter fan and a smaller footprint. These should be available for testing with clients in January 2021. We will also be adding an audio chat feature which will allow users to talk to each other using an inbuilt push to talk system during a Flex session without a separate video conferencing platform. We expect this to be released in the first half of 2021 — and in the meantime, our customer success team are on-hand to work with users to provide guidance on best practice for using Zoom, Bluejeans, Microsoft Teams or their video conferencing platform of choice.
