Introducing Editorial Sessions in ClearView Flex

Before joining Sohonet, I spent my career working with production teams — and I’ve spent years in the room with editors doing their best to stay focused on the cut while juggling tech that just didn’t have their back. Review sessions should move the creative forward, but too often they’re slowed down by glitchy playback, clunky interfaces, and the headache of patching in third-party video calls that were never built for creative work.

ClearView Flex has always been about solving that — a professional-grade remote review tool (that’s even won an Emmy!) built for the way creative teams actually work. But even good tools can get better.

We know that teams use Flex across a wide range of workflows — from VFX to color to sound — and each comes with its own unique challenges. So we’ve started work on something we’re calling “Session Types”:different UI setups within ClearView Flex, each tailored to the specific needs of different teams and the way they actually work.

Because let’s be honest — one size doesn’t fit all, and it shouldn’t have to. That’s what sets ClearView Flex and the team at Sohonet apart - we’re building tools that adapt to your workflow, not the other way around.

Editorial Sessions

Editorial Sessions is the first step in bringing that vision to life.

Editorial Sessions are designed to let editors edit — without having to become part-time streamers.
We’ve built in video conferencing, optimized audio routing and monitoring, and redesigned the interface with editors in mind. The goal is to make getting to a director’s or producer’s cut feel as natural and seamless as it did when everyone was in the same room.

And this is just the beginning — more is on the way for editorial teams and creatives across the entire production chain.

We’re always listening, always evolving — so try it out, tell us what you think, and help shape what comes next.
